You may have noticed all of the flags on the poles in various locations around Clark Mills. I don’t know if the residents know that this is something that the Clark Mills Historical Society quietly does. Jack Shafer has coordinated this with the help of Marty Joseph, Jack McCabe and Al Roberts over the years. Thanks also to Shafer and Sons for donating the remaining flags needed this year.

William Scott Hooson Coleman Scholarship

On June 7, 2017, the Clark Mills Historical Society awarded its $250 William Hooson Coleman memorial scholarship to Clark Mills graduating senior Austin Kulpa.
Congratulations, Austin! The Society wishes you the best of luck in all your future endeavors!
The $250 scholarship is given by the CMHS in remembrance of Will Coleman who died in a motor vehicle accident on March 1, 2016. He is the grandson of former historical society President Shirley and William Hooson and the son of Donna Hooson Coleman and Scott Coleman.
The 2016 recipient of the scholarship was Kyle Valente, a good friend of Will’s and a computer science major. He is the son of Fawn Roth and grandson of Larry Roth a longtime employee of Hooson’s Garage.
His love was computers and he was a tutor to middle school students.
Will was a devoted friend and will forever be remembered by his friends and family as a really great guy.

Stolen Memorial Stone
Roxanne Mould Memorial Stone
STOLEN
The memorial stone dedicated to Roxanne Mould has been stolen from the Clark Mills Historical Society Garden on the corner of Main St. and Clinton St.
Roxanne and her family deserve more respect than this. If you have any information, please contact the Town of Kirkland Police at 315-853-2924 (Hopefully, thieves will have a conscience and return soon)
On October 17, 2015, a ceremony was held in commemoration of Roxanne Fall Mould, long-time employee of the U.S. Post Office in Clark Mills. A stone with memorial plaque was located in the Garden at Clark Mills corner( corner of Main St. and Clinton St.)
Roxanne held a special place in the hearts of the residents of Clark Mills and we hope that the perpetrators will be found soon and the stone returned unharmed to it’s rightful location.
